This will be held in SP, 17-19 Nov 08. Do sign up if you think it is relevant to you.
Innovative Technologies and Energy Efficient Solutions
LT1A, Singapore Polytechnic, Singapore, 17 th - 19 th November 2008
Organized by The Environmental Engineering Society of Singapore
& The Chinese Institute of Environmental Engineering
Co-organized by Singapore Polytechnic
Background & Objectives
Economic development has been progressing rapidly over the past two centuries and particularly so over the last several decades. This development has often not given sufficient consideration to sustainability and such practices, along with the sheer force of population increase, have led to adverse impacts on the quality of life. Unsustainable development would eventually lead to resource depletion and damage to national and international economies. Clearly, there is an urgent need to address these environmental concerns and this requires appropriate technological developments and sound management strategies to facilitate sustainable development. Such technological developments and formulation of sound management strategies require intensive efforts at improving environmental engineering education and research.
This conference is organized with the intention of creating a platform to address the technical and management issues in relation to challenges on creating a sustainable water environment through innovative technologies and energy efficient solutions. It allows researchers, engineers, planners, regulators, practitioners as well as other related professionals and practitioners to present the latest in scientific advances and practical applications in this field, cutting across a wide range of industries and functional areas. It will provide opportunities for participants to share knowledge and ideas, identify and update emerging issues, and to network with international counterparts in this industry.
Details are enclosed in the Conference Brochure, Program and Registration form.
10% discount will be given to group registration of 3 or more participants from the same organization (not applicable for student registration)

News from CLS blog
Dear all,
With immediate effect, all emails sent to you will be uploaded into the following blog:
newsfromcls.blogspot.com
The reasons are:
1. I want to document all emails to my graduates.
2. You can also use the blog as a searchable reference.
3. You can make use of rss feed from the blog.
However, note that attachments will not be uploaded to the blog so you will still have to look at your emails if there are attachments.
Have a good day!
P.S. As a side note, my current interest is in water quality monitoring in the natural areas of Singapore. You may check out my activities in:
