Scientific Support Specialist
(Analytical Chemistry)
Position Summary:
The candidate will be expected to support Researcher in executing routine chemical analysis of a wide range of products in accordance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and good laboratory practices. He/she must have sound fundamentals of chemistry, analytical laboratory skills and knowledge.
Essential Functions:
Receiving and reviewing of samples submission for chemical analysis to the laboratory
Extraction, preparation and labelling of standards, Quality Control (QC) assay, samples and solutions for routine and ad-hoc new chromatographic and spectrometric analysis
Perform data analysis with chromatographic and spectrometric software (eg. Chromeleon)
Recording of experimental plans and processed data in results template and Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN)
Maintain inventory of laboratory reagents, chemicals and consumable supply
Perform routine laboratory housekeeping – cleaning up lab and disposal of expired chemicals, solvents and samples.
Basic calibration and maintenance of equipment and their records
Set up approved and standardized training of validated test methods and equipment operation after the initial knowledge transfer from Researcher.
Communicate immediately any experimental deviation, equipment failures, or any other laboratory anomalies directly to Researcher and Reporting Manager
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Possess a Diploma in Chemistry or related discipline
Candidate with the following technical knowledge and laboratory experience is required:
(a) Analytical sample extraction and preparation techniques (eg..solvent-solvent extraction)
(b) Operation of general laboratory equipment (eg. pH meter, weighing balance)
(c) Operation of chromatographic methods (eg. GC-FID, HPLC-ELSD/DAD, ICP-OES)
(d) Have good chemical handling skills (eg. pipetting skills)
Able to work independently and have an out-going personality
Detail-oriented at work
Good organizational and coordination skill to multi-task and meet deadlines as needed
Keen learner and motivated at work
Good communicative skill
Possess intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software

Senior Scientific Support Specialist (Production and Stability Analysis)
Position Summary:
The candidate shall have intermediate experience (practical or academic) in scientific laboratory work running routine validated test methodologies and be able to perform data analysis all under good laboratory and manufacturing practices.
Essential Functions:
Logistics preparation for stability studies - calibration of equipment, organize, pull out and storage of samples for submission for physical, chemical and microbiological stability testing and documentation preparation
Qualified for and to perform routine validated stability tests on pull out samples and finished products as directed in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and organization's safety and quality requirements
Tabulate, process and submission of technical study data to work request management, sample submission system and Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN).
Support lab scale production of products – pre-weighing of materials, set up and operation of equipment
A lead trainer for the various stability tests for the team – set up training matrix, work processes, lead and coordinate cross-training within the team
Will support Manager in establishing team organization and work processes for sustainable operation
Replenish and track laboratory samples, raw materials, consumables and reagent inventory
Perform daily laboratory housekeeping including scrapping of products and routine basic equipment maintenance
Communicate with Manager and Customer on work assignments, product testing deviation, instrumentation failures/issues or any other laboratory anomalies
Conduct all assigned work in compliance with our organization's safety and quality requirements
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Possess at least a Diploma in Science or related disciplines
Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant laboratory working experience with GLP and cGMP knowledge would be preferred

Job Overview
This is part of the Development and Apprenticeship (DNA) programme, the job holder will be placed on a place- and- train programme as a Chemical Technician. The successful candidate will be offered a 36 month fixed term contract role.
As a member of the production shift team, the job holder will operate and monitor the chemical production activities in the plant, ensuring that the product is manufactured within set production schedule and to the required standards of quality in a safe, efficient, responsible and cost effective manner.
Job Scope Summary
• Operate the different streams of the plant for their specific processes.
• Comply with HSE and quality policies and defined procedures. Bring out unsafe conditions and acts / procedures for correction.
• Record all operational and analytical data on the appropriate documents and inform the Shift Supervisor of any process abnormalities.
• Maintain product separation and accurate labelling of all documents, bags and vessels at all times.
• Carry out routine checks and scheduled cleaning procedures.
Requirements & Qualifications
• Candidates with at least a NITEC/ Higher NITEC/ Diploma from any disciplines.
• Fresh entrants who are keen to join the pharmaceutical industry.
• Must be prepared to work three rotating shifts.
• Resourceful, conscientious, dedicated and a good team player.
• Adequate formal and on-the-job training on the chemical processes will be given.
