The candidate will be part of a team responsible in redesigning products, processes, tests or components to meet quality, cost, efficiency, component technology obsolescence and customer requirements. They will participate actively in new product introduction, including influencing the design of the product to ensure manufacturability, test and conformance to quality standards; enabling prototyping while in the R&D lab, testing the reliability of prototypes and managing the transition into production.
Primary responsibilities include:
• Product knowledge transfer for designated product inclusive of Process/Mechanical/Electronics & Test requirements.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes & workflow for robust, efficient & high quality manufacturing & test processes to deliver state of the art instruments to customers’ requirements.
• Support the manufacturing with critical product troubleshooting. Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to instrument performance, application and quality/reliability
• Strive for continuous improvement to drive product yield, quality, cycle time & cost improvement
• Work closely together with cross functional teams within R&D, QA, NPI and Materials to develop production capabilities for NPI and support existing products.
• Support and implement the product life cycle transition from prototype to full production, adhering to highest standards in compliance and quality
• Provide training for cross functional teams to develop talent and build high performing teams.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelors or Masters in Engineering, Chemistry/Physics from an accredited higher learning institution.
• Minimum 2-3 years related working experience within high precision high tech industries
• Experience in chemical sample preparation and testing involving precision analytical instruments (liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry) is preferred.
• Experience with New Product Introduction is an added advantage.
• Knowledge in SPC, Six Sigma, RCA tools, engineering CAD and DOE is an added advantage.
