Shell lab in Jurong Island is looking for a lab technician for a one year contact. It mainly deals with research and technical service on polyurethane foams.

Job responsibilities:
Carries out bench-scale foaming/polymer experiments to support customers or technical projects in a timely, accurate and safe manner.
Conducts analytical, physical and flammability tests on foam and/or polyol samples employing appropriate test methods.
Support operation of large-scale foaming machine (physically demanding work)
Organizes and document experimental results and ensure proper level of technical communication to relevant team members.
Responsible for the quality of the experimental data produced.
Complies and perform jobs and duties in line with ISO requirements and maintain all laboratory test records. Carries out routine maintenance and calibration of all laboratory equipments.
Complies with Shell HSSE Management System and Standards and contribute to laboratory HSSE initiatives.
Support administrative work (10% of job responsibilities)
Experience: Experience in polymer/polyurethane industry or relevant product R&D is a plus.
Laboratory experimental skill in product application/chemical area is preferred.
Demonstrate good communication and people skills.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Fluent in both verbal and written English.
Mechanical aptitude required to handle laboratory and large-scale foaming equipment.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Technical competencies: Diploma in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/Chemical Process technology/Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
